Randall Garrett

Randall Garrett "Graveyard Swag" (2015) digital print, 30-1/2 x 23 in.

The performance and installation work of Randall Garrett explores questions of identity, both personal and collective. He begins with the thesis that all forms (gender, ethnicity, sexuality, class) are conceptual overlays or masks, which can be consciously manipulated or remixed to reflect on and generate new meanings. He has exhibited, curated, and performed in Dallas, Houston, Santa Fe, Chicago, New York, and Miami. Garrett founded and ran the critically recognized Plush Gallery from 2000-2012, and is currently gallery director and instructor in Arts and Humanities at El Centro College in Dallas.
